Leading transformer manufacturer in India
providing details on types of Transformer Oils!
Types of Transformer
Oil and Transformer Insulating Oil which are available by the Transformer
manufacturing company in India, Rajasthan Powergen are distinguished into
various classes and their uses are elaborated below in further points.
What is Insulating Oil?
Transformer oil is
insulating oil used in Transformers commonly, which is obtained by the process
of fraction distillation followed by further treatment of crude petroleum, and
thus, this is the reason why it is known as mineral insulating oil. Transformer
oil caters two main purposes, i.e. in electric power transformer it acts as a
liquid insulator, and secondly, it preserves the winding and core which are
fully submerged in oil. The most important use of oil is that it helps in
avoiding direct contact of oxygen present in an atmosphere with paper
insulation of winding which is made up of cellulose, which is likely to get
influenced by oxidation and destroy winding of the transformer.
Different types of Transformer Oil:
Generally, Transformer
Oil which is exported in India is classified into two classes namely:
1. Paraffin based
transformer oil
2. Naphtha-based
transformer oil
As Naphtha oil is more
likely to get oxidized and form more soluble sludge in comparison to the
paraffin oil. Thus, the sludge which is obtained from Naphtha oil does not get
precipitated in the bottom of the transformer, and due to this phenomenon, it
does not obstruct the convection circulation of oil in the transformer.
In paraffin based
transformer oil, sludge formation is insoluble and gets precipitate in the bottom
of the tank, and this hinders the cooling system of the transformer. Paraffin based transformer oil has more
undesirable aspects than naphtha-based transformer oil, still, it is used in adequate quantity in our
country due to its easy availability. As paraffin based transformer oil has no
effect of high temperature due to high pour point, thus, it could be used in a
warm climatic condition of India.
Distinguished features
of Transformer Insulating Oil which are catered by the transformer manufacturing
company located in India.
Few distinct features
are required to determine the usefulness of the oil are as followed:
Transformer oil is classified as:
Chemical Parameter:
Water content, Sludge content, acidity.
Physical Parameter:
Flashpoint, pour point, Interfacial tension, viscosity.
Electrical Parameters:
Specific resistance, Dielectric strength, dielectric dissipation factor.
Premium quality transformer oil is used in the products offered Rajasthan Powergen, the leading transformermanufacturer in India so that they are able to surpass the quality expectations.
