An electric device which transforms
electric circuit from one to other through inductively
coupled conductors is known an transformer.

advantages and benefits of layer wound round coils with miter cut cruciform cores and additional
mechanical strength and ability to withstand the harsh
transient fault. Also the construction of
disc helps in reducing the electrical stresses which are present Inside the coil. These stresses are abuses by
switching surge, lightening strikes, and voltage disturbances which are a
regular occurrence in places where large transformers are used and in the
network at higher voltage levels.
